Terms and conditions

OUR REFUND POLICY: Please read this carefully before you make your payment

We appreciate actors are often cast at short notice. With this in mind, we offer a full refund 7 days prior to the course commencing.

If you withdraw from the course less than 7 days prior to the start, the course fee will not be refunded BUT we can offer you a credit for the sessions we are able to fill. For any sessions we are unable to fill a credit will not be given.

If you are unable to make any session, you may make it up by auditing one class in the other stream. A credit will be offered if the session is missed for covid-related reasons.

If professional demands dictate classes may be delayed or sessions moved.
We reserve the right to cancel any workshop or session with full refunds given.

BY PAYING YOUR INVOICE WE ASSUME YOU HAVE READ AND AGREED TO THE GUIDELINES BELOW.

With thanks!

Peter Feeney

GUIDELINES FOR PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT AT THE ACTORS LAB STUDIO

These guidelines are designed to keep us all sane, out of jail, and keep the drama in the work. They are excellent habits also to carry in to your professional work. If you’re found to be in breach of any of these guidelines we reserve the right to ask you to leave class with no refund or credit given.

1) If you’re on time, you’re late. If you are going to be late let your CLASS ASSIST know via text.

2) Prepare before each class – learning your lines is an expected minimum.

3) What happens in class stays in class.

4) Never come to class under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

5) We have a zero tolerance policy around harassment and bullying. This is whether harassment or bullying was intended or not e.g. if someone overheard something you did not intend them to hear.

6) Don’t do anything you don’t feel safe to do, either physically or emotionally. Protect your privacy – do not share anything you don’t want to share. If you ever feel unsafe or unsure, tell Emma, Peter or the visiting teacher, either privately or in front of the group, as you prefer.

7) You are NOT required to rehearse outside of class with your scene partners – this isn’t always possible – but it is encouraged that you do.

8) Never blame your scene partner for your results. Take ownership. Your fellow actor is doing their best and working through their own challenges. Remember, you shouldn’t normally work with the same person more than once per term. Suck it up.

9) Once the course starts if you skip the odd class you will be offered the opportunity to audit the other class to make it up. If you have to pull out once the course starts we will try and find someone to replace you; if we do we may be able to refund you some of your course fee. But please appreciate, once the course has started replacing you is usually difficult.

10) Swearing is okay. BUT racism, sexism, homophobia and ableism etc is not allowed.

11) If you start up an intimate relationship with a fellow student and there are icky consequences of any kind THIS IS ON YOU. We’re all big ugly adults. We are not interested in policing or refereeing your personal life. If the drama from your relationship spills over into the work one of you will have to move to another class. We’re here to learn and have fun, right?
